Apetite for architecture

Co-authored by ABK.

...a women is found in the desert, fully dressed, not disoriented, nor hurt or hungry, just without sense of direction.

she is found by some villagers from a nearby village looking for flowers in the desert

maybe they found one, maybe they didn't

the woman is put on a bus, she has not said a word, before she ascends the step to the bus the villagers tell her: "your going to the city"

maybe she heard maybe she didn't

she never looked back

she arrives, and there is great pandemonium; cars, motorbikes, people everywhere, smoke, people, buildings cars, she cannot take it, she faints

she wakes up, with a sudden sense of self, sense of purpose, she knows now, where to go
"i need to go to the insurance company X"

somehow she knows the city, so she takes the subway

it's surprisingly far, outside the central part of the city, in a suburb, rises a single lonely skyscraper

she: "this is where I'm gone"

she sees the skyscraper, but its strange to her even though she already seems to have a solid bearing of the city

its a shinly mirrored thing, elegant but cold

she's afraid of it

she puts her eyes towards it, but they are almost repelled, her eyes hurt

it bears down on her, as the sun bounces off the metallic panels
like it's too grand for her to enter, to be at ease with herself

she looks down for an instant, catches her breath

she says to herself
there is nothing to fear but yourself

she edges closer to the scraper

she is almost at the doors as she puts her knees to the ground

kneeling before the skyscraper, she looks up, reaching the top with her eyes, never reaching it,
